Oberheim Matrix 1000 - successful matrix series

The Synthesizer Oberheim Matrix 1000 is considered the most widely used Oberheim synthesizer. I own the first generation Rack Synth since May 2013. The device offers 1000 sounds. The matrix matrix of the Matrix-1000 is a real treasure trove for the sound-tinkerer. This modulation matrix is the big plus and a crucial point in the popularity of the Matrix-1000. The wide range of sounds (800 ROM & 200 RAM sounds) and the fantastic analogue surfaces, the soft filter sweeps and the powerful basses make the Matrix-1000 still very desirable today.

The Matrix-1000 offers many possibilities and provides an excellent source of pads, textures and ambient sounds. The sound character of the Matrix-1000 is warm and full. The newer models in the 90's have a cream colored face-plate.
